Reconciliation

I am located on the traditional treaty territories of the Mississauga’s, a branch of the Anishinaabeg nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa, and Potawatomi people.

I know that land acknowledgements can seem performative, but I use this to hold myself accountable as a settler, an academic and a researcher.

Throughout my research, I have tried to challenge my own biases and educate myself on issues surrounding Indigenizing academia. I have been lucky to participate in a community of practice at Ontario Tech University, as well as book clubs and other events hosted by Indigenous Education and Cultural Services.

5% of all revenue is donated to The Steam Connection – a not for profit organization dedicated to revitalizing Indigenous languages across Turtle Island through SkoBots, a wearable robot.
